Known as the concrete jungle, it can be overwhelming for visitors to New York City to get their bearings. With buildings that seemingly touch the sky in every direction, it can be difficult to take in the city as a whole. One way for those visiting New York City to really experience the city is to visit some of the most iconic destinations. Add these places to your itinerary and enjoy the best views of NYC.

Empire State Building

As one of the most well-known buildings in the world, the Empire State Building is a perfect place to take in the best views of NYC. Sitting in the heart of midtown, it is 1.5 miles or a 10-minute drive from the Concorde Hotel. Built in the 1930s, the building features an Art Deco design. Visitors can travel to the 86th floor, where they can stand on the open-air wrap-around observation deck. For an even more impressive view, go even higher to the 102nd observation deck.

Top of the Rock Observation Deck

Rockefeller Center is also located in midtown and about one mile from the Concorde Hotel. Here, you will find the Top of the Rock Observation Deck. Located 70 floors up are three levels of indoor and outdoor observation decks. The terraces surround the building, giving visitors 360-degree views of the city.

The Edge Observation Deck

For breathtaking views, The Edge Observation Deck offers views unlike anywhere in the city. Located about a 15-minute drive from the Concorde Hotel, this outdoor deck is located about 1,100 feet in the air. The 7,500 square feet of outdoor decking offers plenty of space for exploring the views it offers in all directions. However, the most notable part of the edge is The Eastern Point, which juts 80 feet out into the air with angled glass walls. Stand at the end of the point and feel as though you are floating in mid-air. Or you can look straight down onto the city below. For the most adventurous, the City Climb experience offers visitors a chance to climb the outside the building, giving the most unique views of the city.

Summit One Vanderbilt

Located about one mile or a ten-minute drive from the Concorde Hotel is Summit One Vanderbilt. Part art installation, part observation deck, visitors can immerse themselves in the stunning view. Take the world’s largest external glass elevator to the top of the building. Wander through 30,375 square feet of mirrors. Stand on one of the two glass ledges suspended 1,100 feet above the city. On a clear day, visitors can see up to 80 miles.

The High Line

You don’t have to get sky-high to have great views of the city. The High Line is an old elevated railway that has been converted into a public park. Located about 3 miles from the Concorde Hotel, it runs from Midtown to Lower Manhattan through the Meatpacking District and Chelsea Neighborhoods. Visitors can enter and exit the park at several points throughout its length. The park is full of natural vegetation and modern art. As you stroll its length, you can enjoy the up-close views of daily life in NYC. There is thriving shopping and dining in the Meatpacking District. In Chelsea, you will see historic architecture.
